HISTORY

Our Lady of Guadalupe in Ontario CA, started off as a chapel of St. George Parish, which was planned as a center of Christian doctrine dedicated to St. Teresa. On Sunday’s only one mass with 75 participants was celebrated. Today, Our Lady of Guadalupe is home to 4,000 parishioners.

The parish was established in 1935 with Fr. Jose Nunez as its first pastor. Our Lady of Guadalupe at its present location was constructed in 1946, with its opening ceremony on December 12, 1948.

With our Lady of Guadalupe as our church patron, our parish celebrates her feast with a special solemnity each year.  With the feast beginning the eve of the feast and continuing throughout the night. Large crowds attend the feast full of devotion and love to celebrate our Lady of Guadalupe bringing her flowers & joyful voices to honor and venerate our Lady of Guadalupe.
